When you’re doing creative work, where you work can make a difference. Inspiration strikes differently in different settings, and I believe that the energy of a space directly impacts the flow of creativity.
The other day, my husband and I were running errands in Franklin Park, and we were bouncing some ideas back and forth while we were out. We needed a place to sit down and develop the ideas a little more, before they got lost in the wind. And we (I) needed coffee.

The Franklin Park Diner was right there on Rt. 27 and a no-brainer. (I’ve been there many times before, and had a feeling the space would work well for us.)
We walked in and were greeted warmly. We were seated quickly. We got settled, ordered our food, and started to get to work.
Shortly after, our daughter’s summer camp called with a small emergency.
And that was the end of our work session.
We let our server know that we had to leave. She promptly told the kitchen to switch our order from dine-in to take-out, and she brought us each a fresh cup of coffee to go.
While we didn’t accomplish what we set out to that morning and the projects we wanted to work on were left unfinished, other ideas did emerge from that experience and that space — including this blog post.
Chances that we (or I) will go back to do work there again:
